I faced many problems that students and graduates told me, and when I thought about it and its cause, l have always found that the reason is they confused about biotechnology concepts, so, opinions are differed by this science which causes wrong judgments and decisions that lead to a negative result, The problem is in the way of understanding the science of Biotechnology not in the Biotechnology itself. Therefore, we will begin a series of articles to know the science of Biotechnology in more than one way, and you should know that the meanings and concepts of this field are endless.
Biotechnology has a broad concept, it is the science that based on the biological system, biological systems refer to the form of life whether prokaryotic (Bacteria and Microbes) or Eukaryotic (Animals and Humans) or one of the components of this biological system such as nucleic acids, proteins, and enzymes. Now the question is, what does benefit from this system? Of course, we do a lot, because this system is very accurate, wonderful, and diverse at the same time, so it is possible to get benefits from this system in any field, and this is what exactly biotechnology does by using various of these systems to produce products or services that benefit humanity.
For more clarification, let us talk about the source of energy in any living organism, which is carbon, where the organism does the metabolism of food to reduce carbon atoms and convert them to energy used in its various biological processes. It is common knowledge that Eukaryotic obtains carbon from glucose. But what some people do not know is that some other accurate organisms can digest petroleum derivatives to burn it and extract from them carbon, which necessary for them to produce the energy required to complete their vital processes. What is surprising, that these microorganisms, which are seen only with a microscope, can perform these biological processes simply without any effects on the environment, but if a person tries to do that, he will use a very high temperature, however, some pollutants will produce and destroy the environment.
Then the role of the researcher of biotechnology appears after discovering this strain of bacteria, and this unique and strange biological system that can rid of all the petroleum pollutants in the oceans. In this way, the biotechnology field provided a microorganism to service humanity without any negative effects on the environment, and this is only by bringing this species, developing it, doing genetic modification for it, and growing it in the place of pollutants.
